April 10

April 10, 1816 – Richard Allen was named the African Methodist Episcopal’s first Bishop, thereby becoming the first Black Bishop in the United States.

April 10, 1968 – Civil Rights Act of 1968 was passed by Congress, making housing discrimination illegal.

 April 10, 1975 – Lee Elder made history as the first Black golfer to play in the Masters Tournament.
