April 27

April 27, 1899 – A white mob in Lee County, Georgia, killed a Black man named Mitchell Daniel for “talking too much” about the previous day’s brutal lynching of another Black man named Sam Hose.

April 27, 1927 – Civil rights leader, Coretta Scott King, was born.

April 27, 1968 – Vincent Porter becomes the first African American certified in plastic surgery.
