With less than 10 days more for the premiere of the Lion King movie, the cast in Hollywood has already seen the masterpiece.
Earlier, when Disney announced a live-action remake of The Lion King revealing the registration of Hakuna Matata as a trademark, some Africans were incensed. They accused the entertainment company of cultural appropriation.
Hakuna Matata was registered since 2003 in the United States after the release of the 1994 film which made the phrase popular.
That has however not stopped the movie from premiering in Hollywood.
We bring you photos of some of the black “kings” and “queens” who attended the premiere.
