The South African-Ghanaian entrepreneur’s company, Easy Solar makes clean energy affordable to off-grid communities in West Africa. It offers high-quality solar products and appliances on a rent-to-own financing model that enables customers to finance their purchase over time by paying weekly instalments. Launching in 2016, the company currently operates in Sierra Leone, where more than 87 per cent of its 7 million population live without electricity and, in rural areas, only 1 per cent have access. With 35 employees and around 40 agents, Easy Solar has since provided electricity to over 40,000 people in the country.
