Egypt Heads to the Poll for the First Time Since Mubarak

by Sandra Appiah, 1:00am November 28, 2011,

A plethora of political parties have emerged in Egypt as the country prepares for elections for the first time since Mubarak. Reports have announced more than 50 political parties, as well as many independent candidates who are running for elections.

Today, citizens are headed to the poll in hopes of bringing democracy to the country. There have been reports of minor glitches, including many polling stations opening late due to administrative problems, but for the most part, the voting process is moving smoothly. The turnout is reported to be very high.
