Africa Unite

Released in 1979, Africa Unite is one of the most more popular songs of Marley.

He was straight to the point, asking for the unification of African peoples, among whom for Marley includes those in the diaspora too.

“Africa, unite!
‘Cause we’re moving right out of Babylon
And we’re going to our Father’s land.”

This song was inspired by the projects of individuals such as Marcus Garvey and Kwame Nkrumah. Succinctly, Marley championed Pan-Africanism.
