Gustavo Bodjedi Envela-Mahua Jr.

Born in Bata, Gustavo is an actor, sprinter, and politician who is currently based in Washington, D.C. in the United States.

After he became the first athlete from Equatorial Guinea to compete in the Olympics, he went on to compete in a total of four games – 1984, 1988, 1992, and 1996 – setting a record for appearances in the Olympics by a sprinter.

In 2012, it was announced that he was running for the presidency of his native Equatorial Guinea with the hopes of establishing freedom of speech while raising the standard of living and education.
