Authorities in Florida said a 21-year-old woman, who killed a 41-year-old man, left an accusatory note on the deceased victim’s body and also claimed that he had been sexually grooming her since she was 8.
According to The News & Observer, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said the suspect, identified as Journee McGrew, killed the man during a “domestic dispute.”
An arrest report stated that in the wee hours of July 2, McGrew contacted her father’s wife, resulting in him driving to his daughter’s apartment to ascertain if she was OK. Officers said that McGrew and her father had a phone conversation regarding what had transpired while he was driving to his daughter’s place.
The sheriff’s office said McGrew informed her father that she declined the deceased victim’s demand that “she have sex with him” after he arrived at her apartment. Authorities also said she informed her father that she used a hammer to strike the 41-year-old man after he got hold of her.
“I think he’s dead, Daddy,” McGrew is said to have informed her father. Authorities said that the suspect’s father called 911 after he told her to cut the line.

Responding officers found the bloodied victim outside McGrew’s apartment, with a note that was left on his chest. Authorities said a green highlighter was used to write, “PEDO Touches Children,” on the note.
Investigators spoke with McGrew, and she informed them that she was 8 when the man started sexually grooming her, adding that he had also sexually assaulted her before.
Prior to the fatal incident, McGrew said that she sent the man a sexual text and told him that she was remorseful over the treatment she had meted out to him, per the report. She also asked the man to come to her place, “spend time with him and have sex.”
She said that after the man arrived, they briefly stepped out before returning to her apartment, officers said, adding that they then had drinks, The News & Observer reported. Officers also said McGrew informed investigators that she turned down the man’s advances after he spoke about sex. She then asked the man to leave.
The report stated that McGrew said that when the man was leaving, she got hold of a metal hammer and concealed it. She said the man established contact with her in an “aggressive way” when he faced her at the door.
Officers said that they then got into a physical altercation after she pushed the man back, and she killed him when he landed on the ground. Investigators asked McGrew if she told the man to come over because she intended to kill him, but her reply is redacted in the arrest report, The News & Observer reported.
McGrew has since been charged with second-degree murder and tampering with evidence.
