The Ghanaian government on Thursday signed a petroleum agreement with Camac Energy of Johannesburg to evaluate the economic development of the Tano Basin offshore. The agreement plans to develop the large quantities of oil and gas found in the Expanded Shallow Water Tano (EWST) block over the next 9 months.

ESWT is located in the Tano Basin, 15-35 km off the coast of Ghana including the North, South and Western regions.

The CEO of Camac Energy, Kase L. Lawal stated, “The Tano Basin offers the kind of high-reward oil prospects that we believe will enable us to build near-term value for our shareholders through the drillbit.”
