Rara
Rara is a music festival that celebrates Haiti’s African ancestry and Afro-Haitian culture. The festival is held several times during the Lenten period and native Haitian musical instruments like bells, maracas, drums and bamboo trumpets are used. The songs are performed in Haitian Kreyòl and the lyrics speak on political oppression, poverty and other difficult issues on the island.
