As a follow up to our previous piece on making your own reusable face masks without the hassle of having to use a sewing machine, it is just right that we also “appease” those who may want to try their hands with it so they don’t feel left out.

But before we do that, it is imperative to re-emphasize that health experts recommend people to wear protective face masks when in public to help stop the spread of coronavirus.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the use of cloth face masks in public spaces like supermarkets and pharmacies where social distancing may be difficult to enforce or observe is recommended.

“Cloth face coverings fashioned from household items or made at home from common materials at low cost can be used as an additional, voluntary public health measure,” CDC adds.

With the surge in demand for medical face masks resulting in a global shortage, non-health workers are advised to rather go in for cloth face coverings so as to reserve the latter for those who really need them.

With that being said, take a look at how to make your own face covering with a sewing machine below. The materials and tutorials are courtesy of the CDC.
