Cue the tears and mourning party. African heartthrob Idris Elba, 45, is officially a taken man. He hasn’t tied the knot yet, nevertheless, he is engaged to his girlfriend of one year, Sabrina Dhowre, 29. They met while on set for the film “The Mountain Between Us.”
This news comes to the dismay of many women as he’s forever been the inspiration for many “Man Crush Mondays.” Many are also shocked as Elba has been married twice before and didn’t anticipate another commitment in his future.
He was quoted by Essence Magazine as saying: “Am I ever gonna get remarried? I don’t think so. Yeah, I don’t think so,” “Marriage is an institution of sorts. And I’ve done it. It’s not for everybody. It’s not my life’s calling.”
Dhowre is a Somalian model and former Miss Vancouver. Elba solidified his feeling by stating: “Falling in love while making a movie about falling in love is pretty special.”
