On Tuesday, December 13th, Face2Face Africa and Catalyst Network Foundation will host a special meeting of the minds event at Katra Lounge in New York City, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Titled “Distant Relatives – Restoring Black Relations,” the event will take a look at relations between Black immigrants and African Americans, with a specific focus on the root causes of low levels of inclusion among generational Black families and Black immigrant families.
The distinguished panelists include Diane Weathers, assistant VP of Communications & Marketing at Bronx Community College and former editor of Essence Magazine; Fasil Amdetsion, international lawyer and foreign policy adviser; Ambassador Robert F. Van Lierop, veteran UN Diplomat, activist, filmmaker, and lawyer; and Professor James Small, Pan-African activist and scholar.
Following the panel discussion, there will be an intimate after-work mixer with drink specials, where attendees can network and connect with one another.
