Keke Palmer has been appointed as the chief brand officer of Creme of Nature. The black-founded brand offers hair products for care, styling, and color designed specifically for oily, curly, and wavy textured hair.

Her new role makes her the first-ever chief brand officer for the iconic haircare brand launched in 1976 in Chicago. She will be featured in Creme of Nature’s social and digital campaigns, in-store displays, as well as national advertising.

“You honestly don’t really hear about these kinds of positions to even try to audition for them,” she said, according to Ebony. “It came as an actual business collaboration, and for me, it’s such a great fit. I’ve been the CMO-CEO of the Keke Palmer brand for a while now, so for Creme of Nature to see that and want me in this role—it’s a major honor.”

Palmer is elated about her new role largely because she will not only be an ambassador or face of the brand but will also have a voice in shaping the future of the company.

“When they told me I could really be involved, not just as an on-camera spokesperson but in decisions that matter, I knew this was the place for me,” she said. “I want to ensure that if my name is on it and I’m the real CBO, I’m genuinely adding value.”

Also, she views her new role as another way to inspire young women and entrepreneurs.

“In my book, I talk about how there’s no easy way to success,” Palmer said. “I want to change the perception of what it means to be an entrepreneur. It doesn’t mean you start out as a billionaire; it means you wear many hats and get the job done. I hope to encourage others to understand that there’s no ceiling. As long as you’re focused and know you are the business, there’s no limit to what you can achieve.”

An actress, singer, and author, Palmer made history in January as the first Black woman to be nominated and to win the Emmy for Outstanding Host for a Game Show, as well as the first woman to win in 15 years.
