Nia Franklin – Miss America 2019
25-year-old Nia Franklin is Miss America 2019 and a composer by profession having gained a degree in music composition and a Masters in Music.
Her work as a music composer has led her to write original music, the most popular being King Solomon. In 2017, she moved to New York after being selected as a William R. Kenan Jr. fellow with the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts’ education division. It was there that she competed for Miss New York 2018, won and went on to win Miss America 2019.
Born on July 27 1993, Nia grew up with her family in Winston-Salem, North Carolina where she won Miss Black and Gold. In 2018, she sang the National Anthem at the 2018 Military Bowl.
