During an appearance on Hard Rock Bet, Mike Tyson touched on his potential high-profile fight with fellow boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. and who’s going to emerge victorious.

Per Complex, the 59-year-old shared that discussions for the fight were still being held, adding that he and Mayweather, 48, were open to battling it out in the ring.

The former heavyweight champion also disclosed that it was Mayweather’s camp who pitched the idea for their fight.

“Floyd wanted to fight me,” Tyson, whose previous fight ended in a loss to YouTuber-cum-boxer, Jake Paul, said. “I think I’ve got a decent relationship with him. I don’t hate him. No harsh feelings.”

And though the date for the fight is yet to be confirmed, Tyson said that it could happen during the spring season. “Maybe in March or April,” he said.

Mayweather had a very stellar professional boxing career, as he retired undefeated with a 50-0 record. Tyson acknowledged the 48-year-old’s boxing prowess, saying, “He’s big time, there’s no doubt.”

Tyson further touched on the magnitude of the fight and its prospects. “It’s capable of superseding all my fights,” he said. “This is taking boxing to a new level.”

The 59-year-old was also asked who was going to win the fight, and he confidently vouched for himself. “It looks like he’s going to get knocked out,” he said.

Tyson also touched on his loss to Paul, stating that he trained excessively and went too hard. “I feel good right now. This is the best I’ve felt,” Tyson said, per Complex. “I learned from my last fight. I need to relax more.”

Tyson also spoke about his next endeavor after fighting Mayweather, saying that “anything’s possible.”

“I fight people because they’re my friends. It’s about how we’re going to do business together,” he explained. “He’s going to be a fighter for so long; he’ll be a businessman forever. When you combine the two, you’re very lucky.”
