Call him Mr. Debonair, Nigerian-American rapper, Jidenna caused a Twitter moment on Tuesday after revealing he is looking for a life-long partner. Jidenna, who was introduced into the music scene with his smash hit and Grammy-nominated single, “Classic Man” released in 2015, has progressively become a domineering figure in the music industry in the U.S.

He became even more popular after joining Wondaland Records owned by Janelle Monae. In a tweet, Jidenna said he believes in marriage and monogamy, adding that he also believes in polyamory and looking for a wife.

His tweet comes off the back of an engaging interview on The Breakfast Club, where he spoke about his new music, African history, polyamory and more. He stated categorically that he is down for a variety of different types of unions as far as the relationship has the right foundation.

Jidenna is known for his confidence and spectacular swag blended with an Afrocentric fashion style.

His tweet was met with applause from many women while others attempted to throw their names in the ring for potential “wifey.”

Jidenna has in the past made headlines for mostly the right reasons. He acknowledges the influence of Fela Anikulapo Kuti and Bob Marley on his music. According to him, his foundation was built around hip hop but deviated when he grew up listening to classy music.

“My foundation was built around hip-hop but I got influenced by other sounds. When I was growing up in Nigeria, Bob Marley was like the biggest god so me and Fela were my biggest heroes when I was a kid,” he said.
