Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari has just ended a visit to the White House where he had talks with U.S. president Donald Trump on security and economic development.
The visit, on Monday, made Buhari the first sub-Saharan African leader to hold talks with the Trump administration.
In a joint press conference, Trump’s reported statement calling Africa a shithole came up, and Buhari told reporters that he is not sure whether Trump said it or not.
Trump reacted by not denying it, but by saying: “The [Nigerian] president knows me and he knows where I’m coming from. And you do have some countries that are in very bad shape and very tough places to live in.”
This was followed by a jolly signing of bilateral agreements. One photo is trending in Nigeria for the wrong reasons. Trump is seen grinning next to Buhari as the Nigerian leader signs an unknown agreement with a smile.
Here are some reactions to the photograph:

?. Yeah. It’s always us going to them and they certainly aren’t doing nothing for free without an ulterior motive. Who knows what this one is signing there now and it’s long term effect?.
Still doesn’t rule out that the UK probably always has a worse deal— Legends Of Al-Ameen (@LegendsOfMyself) May 1, 2018
This analogy pretty much describes what I told people when I saw this photo ???
A clueless president signing the dotted lines while one of the greatest deal makers alive laughs at the background. It would never end well
