An Ohio man made an intriguing confession moments after he killed his father in a stabbing because of an argument over doing the dishes at home.
Following the alleged killing of his own father, Marysville resident Micaiah Swindler reached out to 911 and calmly told dispatchers, ‘I’m not going to lie. I just killed my father.’
‘Wait, what?’ asked the dispatcher in the call obtained by WSYX News.

‘I killed my dad,’ Micaiah repeated nonchalantly of the brutal murder of his 59-year-old father, Joe Swindler.
‘What do you mean you killed your dad?’ the seemingly confused dispatcher responded.
‘Like, he’s dead,’ Swindler responded, sounding calm and collected.
Asked why he committed such a heartbreaking yet brazen act that led to his father’s death, the Ohio man responded: ‘God. God told me to.’ ‘I had orders,’ he added.
A few hours before Swindler stabbed his father, Marysville police had already visited his home to respond to a dispute between the son and his father.
The initial verbal conflict that led cops to visit the family was due to a disagreement over doing the dishes, as per the police report.
Emergency services were phoned by Micaiah after the murder, and he allegedly admitted to stabbing his father with a knife.
A Neighbor named Rich Digney saw officers taking the suspect into custody and also noticed the Ohio man being calm throughout his arrest after his father’s death.
‘The boy just walked out and gave himself up to him,’ Digney recalled. ‘They put him in handcuffs, put him in the car and that was it.’
For nearly two decades, Father Joe lived in the neighborhood and worked at Honda.
‘He was quiet. He took care of his yard. He didn’t come over and visit or anything. We waved to him, he waved back. That’s about it,’ Digney added.
During a court hearing this week, prosecutors urged the judge to keep Swindler in prison, after he was charged with first-degree murder.
They called him as dangerous and requested he be held on a high bond.
During Tuesday’s hearing, the court set Micaiah’s bond at $1 million as he remains behind bars at the Tri-County Regional Jail in Mechanicsburg.
The Ohio man who confessed to killing his father is scheduled to return to Marysville Municipal Court on May 1 for his next hearing and, is yet to enter a plea during this period.
