It is hard to find anyone who is not moved by poetry. When feelings and ideas are communicated in the best possible words with style, hardened hearts can melt.

But just like almost every art form, the appreciation for poetry has a subjective bend. We get to love the words of poets when they are telling our stories.

Black and African poets have excelled in putting on paper distinctive and memorable magic that has spoken to millions who look like them.
