A Florida man has been convicted of bigamy after he married three women at the same time. Per Local 12 WKRC-TV, the three victims said they believed 50-year-old Henry Betsey Jr. married them because of their money.
After becoming aware of his actions, one of Betsey’s wives reported him to authorities on bigamy allegations, WFTS reported. He ultimately turned himself in to authorities on October 23, 2024.
Betsey and his first wife, Tonya, met via the Tinder dating app before they tied the knot in November 2022. “The way he portrayed himself, he sold the perfect person, when in reality he was none of those things,” Tonya informed the media.
He and his second wife, Brandy Allen, married in February 2022 after they similarly met on a dating app. “He said all the right things,” Brandy recalled. “We got married right there at the courthouse, no questions asked. There was nothing that was flagged in the system for him having already two prior open marriage licenses.”

Just like the others, Betsey and his third wife, Michele Narens met on a dating app before they tied the knot in November 2022. The 50-year-old was ultimately exposed after Tonya got to know about his relationship with Michele. Tonya then contacted her.
“I had no idea that she was still married to him,” Tonya said. The three women also said they felt that Betsey married them to gain access to their finances, not for love, Local 12 WKRC-TV reported.
“The day we got married, he said, ‘We need to make your bank account a joint bank account,'” Brandy said.
Betsey was convicted after he entered a guilty plea. He was handed a two-year probation sentence after pleading no contest to a bigamy charge. He was also said to be in the process of annulling his marriages to his victims.
