Remembering the black entertainment pacesetters who brought colour to the big screen

‘Fat Albert” and the Cosby Kids – The first cartoon with an all-black cast (1972)

In 1972, Bill Cosby makes history again when he created, produced and starred in the first all-black cartoon series to air on television. The show was dedicated to the actor’s life taking viewers through the funny and not so funny side of growing up as Bill Cosby. Viewers are introduced to many of his friends before becoming a television sensation in and across the world. The show lasted until 1985.
