Savannah James on her Everybody’s Crazy podcast revealed she got into many fights while dating LeBron James in high school. She, however, said she could not tell if it stemmed from being romantically involved with the future Hall of Famer.
“I was fighting,” Savannah, who tied the knot with LeBron in 2013, said, per the New York Post. “I don’t [love to fight]. But I had to defend myself. I had a lot of that. I had girls who didn’t like me and couldn’t tell nobody why they didn’t like me.
“… I do feel like a lot of the fights I had, it was just me being an ally of my friends. I don’t feel like I really fought a fight that was my fight. Because I was nice. I got a long a majority of everybody.”
Savannah’s co-host, April Daniels, suggested on a lighter note that those fights probably stemmed from her mates taking issue with her dating LeBron at the time. “They’re like, ‘Why couldn’t it be me?’ ” said Daniels.
Savannah said she could not tell if that was the case. She also initially opened up about what she thought she could have done differently during her younger years.
“I think the only thing I would’ve done differently is started to take care of myself sooner,” the 37-year-old said. “That’s the only thing I would’ve done differently. Anything else, having babies young, all of that, it happened. Like April said, that’s a part of my journey. But I do think that pouring into myself and making space for myself sooner, I would’ve liked to start that earlier.”
Despite being married to inarguably the biggest superstar in the NBA, Savannah has kept a low profile. In a previous interview with The Cut, the 37-year-old said she just wanted to enjoy being a mom to their three children while supporting her husband to succeed.
But besides being the boss of the household, Savannah is also a successful person in her own right.
