I love this time of the year in New York City: Not only do I start to thaw out from the arctic weather we experienced this past winter, but the birds are louder, people are friendly, there are more events, and lots of trends to try out. Today, I want to go over a few trend alerts to make sure you can spring forward!

Hair Alert

Remember the first of the year, when you made those things called “resolutions”: it’s time to get a little hair2
out of your comfort zone and try new things! Let’s start with hair, shall we? Check out my new spring hair twist (above), which is very soft and easy to create. I love how fresh it looks as it is pulled from my face to showcase my canvas – make-up on fleek! This is the time of year, I like to wear headbands, flower pins, and other hair accessories.

Don’t be afraid to try a cute pixie (pictured at right) to prepare for spring and transition in to summer. This is the time of year we can play with different colors and highlights.

Nail Alert

When I think of spring, I immediately think of Easter and all the pastel colors. Don’t be afraid to nail colortry a pastel color that’s complimentary to your skin tone — us brown-skinned girls can rock any color without being washed out.

Earlier this year, do you remember when I shared with you that Marsala is Pantone’s Color of the Year? Deep shades are still good to rock for spring.

And you can never go wrong with a classy nude or flesh tone manicure or a well-done unpolished buffed nail, which is very European.

Beauty Product Alert

As you know, I receive a lot of products to try and review. I love being your personal beauty consultant to share with you what’s hot and what’s not!

I have a few must-haves for you to add to your beauty arsenal: The Sephora Collection Things Are Looking Up Eye Lash Curler (above), $15, is not only cute & pink, but it’s also a compact eyelash curler, which is perfect for those weekend getaways we start to take this time of the year.

Tweezerman

Tired of threading or getting facial hair waxed? The Tweezerman Smooth Finish Facial Hair Remover, $20, does the trick with minimum pain.

I’m always asked what makeup brushes I use; I work with so many brushes, which have different uses.  I recently got a bag of beauty goodies from Ricky’s NYC, a beauty supply chain.  Two items in the bag I absolutely can’t put down is the Morphe #G4 brush, because it’s soft, easy to grip, and blends my foundation to create a seamless look.

ricky

My other newfound beauty tool is the RickyCare Vibration Puff that allows me to buff my foundation and concealer to create a flawless look.

Check out my video where I show you how I use the Vibration Puff. Feel free to like, subscribe, and leave a comment:
