These African festivals are unique for celebrating twins

Oyo State Twins Festival – Nigeria

In 2018, the Oyo State in Nigeria, led by the State Government in Igboora – the town where the celebration was marked – organized the first festival that brought together over 2000 sets of twins for a celebration.

All over the Yoruba land, twins are celebrated because it is a part of the culture of the people.

Igboora is called “Land of Twins” because it is a town that has a set of twins in almost every household. There is a belief that more twins are born in Igboora community than anywhere else in the world.
