Kwame Nkrumah

It is fair to say, Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first president, is probably the most notable African independence intellectual.

Terms such as “consciencism” and “neocolonialism” are words that originated from Nkrumah to express his Pan-African socialist thoughts.

Put in the fact that he wrote over five books on politics and political philosophy, Nkrumah really did earn his “thinker” status.
