Doreetha Daniels graduated from College of the Canyons (COC) in Santa Clarita, Calif., with an associate degree in social sciences when she was 99.
She is the oldest graduate in the university’s history.
Her journey to earn a degree wasn’t an easy one. She started in 2009, but had some difficulties. She suffered from multiple strokes to sight and hearing issues, as well as, the revocation of her driver’s license.
For prospective students, she said: “Don’t give up. Do it. Don’t let anybody discourage you. Say that, ‘I’m going to do it,’ and do it for yourself.”
