La Parguera, Puerto Rico

The bio-luminescent bays in Puerto Rico do not allow swimming apart from the La Parguera which permits visitors to swim and snorkel.

A boat ride to witness the amazing constellation of stars underwater is about 20 minutes. The fishing community near the southwestern town of Guanica, in Lajas is home to the bio-lagoon.

The tourism of this community which was started by descendants of the early settlers has seen a significant surge due to its bio-lagoon, La Parguera.
