‘This is my Last’ – Nigerian star Burna Boy quits Twitter

Nigerian music star, Burna Boy has left Twitter because he is “apparently too real for it”. The Grammy-nominated artiste used his last post to urge his fans to “find out what your true calling on this world is, train your mind and your body.”

It is unclear the reason behind his decision. However, reports suggest it could have been triggered by fans accusing him of copying the sounds and rhythm of his mentor, Fela.

It got more complicated after he got into a spat with fans over his perceived “arrogance” and seemed to deride Mavin Music talent, Reekado Banks, who joined the session to challenge Burna to a music fest, BBC reported.

“You know I got too much love for you bro, but didn’t you see when I said worthy challenger,” he tweeted.

This infuriated a host of Twitter users who accused him of being cocky and rude. Burna Boy further stated this is his own way of being real.

This isn’t the first time Burna Boy has threatened to leave social media. Last year, the Ye singer announced he was leaving all his social media platforms to his management, but returned a few months later.

He also announced he was quitting all platforms in 2009, but reneged on that decision.
