The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department in Michigan said TikTok star Rory Teasley was strangled to death by his boyfriend of 10 years after the two got into an argument over a video game, New York Post reported.

The Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a home in Pontiac after Docquen Jovo Watkins, 31, called 911 to report he had been involved in a fight with his 28-year-old boyfriend, Teasley, ClickOnDetroit reported. Officials said Watkins informed police Teasley was on the couch “sleeping.”

But the deputies who responded to the scene said Teasley was unconscious and not breathing when they found him. He was later pronounced dead at a hospital, police said.

Officials said the argument between the couple started while they were playing a video game called “Overwatch.” Watkins allegedly strangled Teasley to death in the course of their argument, officials said.

“We see far too often across the country these days when people resort to violence over trivial and insignificant disagreements,” said Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard. “There is never a reason where violence is acceptable over a disagreement. Those who do so will be held accountable.”

Watkins, who has since been arrested, is being held without bond on a second-degree murder charge, authorities said, per ClickOnDetroit.

Teasley was reportedly a popular TikToker who was known for sharing comedy and dance videos on the social media platform, New York Post reported. He went by the TikTok handle @too2pump4tv and reportedly had 200,000 followers. His videos had also been viewed millions of times at the time of his killing.
