Top 10 most popular African songs of 2018

Ladies and gents, it’s that time of the year again!

2018 has seen some of our favorite African musicians putting in extra work and being rightfully rewarded for it. From chart topping singles to winning coveted accolades, these superstars contributed immensely towards making African music global.

The year saw notable highlights with some African acts breaking glass ceilings. Nigerian afrobeats sensation Davido took home the highly coveted 2018 BET Best International Act and became the first international act to receive the award live on stage. Tanzanian bongo flava star Diamond Platnumz released his highly anticipated sophomore album, “A Boy From Tandale”. One of the breakout stars of the year, Burna Boy, also proved why he should be counted among the best and most talented on the continent.

We can go on and on, but to cut a long story short, we appreciate and salute each and every musician and industry player who made this year a blast!
