It’s that time of the year again and we’re excited to share with you the songs that got the entire continent buzzing and dancing as well.
Though the COVID-19 pandemic brought the entire world to a standstill at a certain point and most certainly messed up several plans, these entertainers gave us some sort of refuge to temporarily forget what was happening around us while we were all keeping safe. Be it afrobeats, house music, dancehall or bongo flava, these sounds – irrespective of the language and genre – transcended beyond the countries of their origin and got people “vibing” to them.
And though the “usual suspects” including Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid, Diamond Platnumz, and Sauti Sol continued from where they left off last year, some newcomers who broke onto the scene also proved they’re most definitely here to stay.
