According to the statistics, South Africa exported glass and glassware valued at $177.3 million or at 0.2% of the global total, ranking second in Africa and 45th in the world. The South African glass industry can be divided into four main sub-sectors: glass manufacturing; glass processing and distribution; fibreglass manufacturing; and industrial mineral and manual glass production, according to PR Newswire. Currently, the PG Group remains the leading manufacturer of float and patterned glass, laminated glass, mirrors and sealant products in the country.
