An annual event that is celebrated on January 21, National Hug Day has become part of U.S. culture and in some parts of the world.

The day which was set aside to encourage everyone to hug family and friends more often was first celebrated in 1986 in Clio, Michigan.

Since then it has become an annual celebration, especially in America. Hugging is not just for fun. It has quite a number of benefits for humans.

In commemoration of National Hug Day, here are some benefits that come with hugging.
