Cape Coast Castle

Located in the capital city of the Central Region of Ghana, the Cape Coast Castle is one of the major historic sites in Ghana and Africa.

Built by the Swedes, it was originally used as a trading spot for timber and gold. The Castle later became a transition center for African slaves to be shipped to the Americas and the Caribbean.
