Authorities in Seattle have brought charges against a 35-year-old man who allegedly shot his 8-month-old son in the head after using the PCP hallucinogenic. Besides opening fire on his son at point-blank range, Dion Lamont Montgomery is said to have also randomly shot at strangers afterward, KING 5 reported.

Authorities said the May 8 incident happened in the neighborhood of Magnolia, and Montgomery has since been charged with first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault, and first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.

Court documents stated that two individuals made a report concerning Montgomery shooting at them. The bullets did not strike them but they took cover behind two parked vehicles. Authorities later determined bullets had hit the cars in question. Montgomery was said to be at a gas station when police ultimately found him, and he told the officers he had initially consumed PCP and “blamed his actions on demons.”

Authorities later received a 911 call as Montgomery was being taken into custody. The call had to do with a woman screaming that her baby had been killed. Officers who responded to the scene found Montgomery’s deceased 8-month-old son.

The deceased baby’s aunt in an interview with KING 5 described the victim as a “sweet, angelic little man.”

“He had nothing but a bright future ahead of him. His smile was contagious,” his aunt added. “Anytime when he was around anyone, he immediately lit up the room. It’s extremely excruciating. [We’ll] always remember his smile.”

The deceased victim was identified as Alaisea Matai Montgomery in a GoFundMe that has been set up to raise funds for his mother and funeral. “With the help of our community we would love to take as much burden off of mom’s shoulder to help lay her precious little king to rest,” the fundraiser states.

“Ala is a strong, angelic, smart, sweet, witty young boy who’s life was taken far to early. His smile would captivate the attention of anyone in his vasinity. Tragically, his life was taken in an horrific way. Not only has this hurt affected our family but he has touched the lives of our community.”
