Pierre Nkurunziza – Burundi
The 54-year-old has been president of Burundi since 2005. He was recently named “Eternal Supreme Guide” by his political party, the National Council for the Defense of Democracy-Forces for the Defense of Democracy. This came ahead of a constitutional reform in May which could allow Nkurunziza to stay in power till 2034. You may not like him for his dictatorial tendencies but you can’t take away the fact that he is appealing.
