Joseph Kabila
Joseph Kabila – DR Congo
Born in 1971, Kabila has been ruling DR Congo since 2001. He assumed office after the assassination of his father Laurent-Désiré Kabila and was elected president in 2006. In 2011, he was re-elected for a second term. His mandate was supposed to have ended in 2016 but he has since remained in power. The situation has led to nationwide protests, where dozens of people have died.
