Brushing reduces heart disease — Golden Triangle Emergency Center

Lessens your chances of getting a heart attack or stroke

Studies say that if you don’t brush your teeth, your mouth can become infected with bacteria which can cause inflammation. Inflammation in the body, including in the mouth and gums leads to the buildup of clogged arteries, which can lead to a heart attack. When bacteria build up in our mouth, they can also travel down into the bloodstream, leading to the likelihood of cholesterol building up in the arteries. This can eventually increase one’s risks of getting a heart attack or stroke.
