Even though we’ve been indoors these past couple weeks as a measure of preventing the spread and transmission of coronavirus, there seem to be other people who can’t actually comprehend what “social distancing” means and are going about their normal businesses like we’re not in the middle of a pandemic.
For those people as well as those of us who are indoors, Samuel L. Jackson is here to remind us about the relevance of staying at home, but not in censored language.
Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! via live stream from the comfort of his home, the award-winning actor delivered a curse-filled and hilarious poem titled Stay the F**k at Home. Written by Adam Mansbach to raise awareness about COVID-19, the book was inspired by his previously published Go the F**k to Sleep. The Avengers star went viral for reading the “children’s book for grown-ups” in 2011.
Dressed in a matching purple hoodie, t-shirt, and his signature Kangol hat, Jackson read the latest version of the book.
“The ‘rona is spreading, this s*** is no joke – it’s no time to work or roam. The way you can fight it is simple, my friends: stay the f*** at home,” he reads.
“Now technically I’m not a doctor, but mother****** listen when I read a poem, so here I am Samuel L Jackson, imploring you to keep your a** at home.”
Other hilarious quotes he read from the curse-filled book include: “Mother*****r it’s no time to gamble, look around, you’re not at a casino. Just stay the f*** at home as if your name was Trentin Quarantino.”
“Sure, you can still see your friends – use the mother****ing app on your phone. But unless you just ran out of groceries, please, stay the f*** at home.”
Take a look at the video below, and as he says, please stay at home.
Besides reading the book, the award-winning actor also opened up on how he’s spending time while isolating with his family. The actor, who is a well-known swearer, told Kimmel he has been watching Power and Tiger King with his daughter and also cooks his favorite Kobe beef hot dogs with grilled onions and coleslaw.
