Jennifer Hudson’s ex-fiancé, David Otunga, has put her engagement ring up for sale. According to ET, the former WWE wrestler and Harvard Law School graduate is selling the expensive ring on IDoNowIDont.com. The e-commerce platform resells previously owned jewelry.

The co-founder of the company, Mara Opperman, confirmed Otunga had listed the ring on the platform in a statement to the news outlet. “IDoNowIDont.com is selling Jennifer Hudson’s former engagement ring,” Opperman said. “Neil Lane was commissioned to design this one-of-a-kind bauble specifically for Hudson. The round brilliant beauty weighs almost 5 carats and is currently listed at $45,000.”

The ring has been classified as a VIP sale on the site. The site describes the ring as one of the “most sought after celebrity engagement rings”, adding that Otunga commissioned Neil Lane to design it. In 2009, Hudson, 40, was spotted wearing the same ring at the Grammy Awards.

The ring has GIA certification and signed certification documents by Neil Lane. IDoNowIDont and Otunga said they’ll donate the funds raised from the sale to charity organizations.

Otunga, 41, proposed to Hudson in 2008. They, however, separated in 2017. They share a son together. But the two did not separate amicably as Hudson obtained a protective order against Otunga in the wake of their split.

“Jennifer Hudson and David Otunga have been in the process of ending their relationship for a number of months,” a rep for Hudson said in a statement to ET at the time. “Today, Jennifer requested and received a protective order against her ex-fiancé. Jennifer’s actions are solely taken in the best interest of their son,” the rep added. “Please respect her privacy at this time.”

But Otunga, in a statement sent by his rep, denied the allegations.

“Mr. Otunga has never abused or harassed Ms. Hudson or their son, and it is unfortunate, especially in today’s climate, that she would feel the need to make these false allegations against him,” the statement said.

“Mr. Otunga looks forward to his day in court and in being awarded the residential care of the parties’ only child.”

“[Mr.] Otunga has been trying to negotiate the terms of an amicable parenting agreement with Ms. Hudson for several weeks now,” the statement added. Hudson’s order of protection was also labeled as “meritless.”
