Supermodel Naomi Campbell has announced the birth of her second child, a boy. The 53-year-old made this known on Instagram Thursday, sharing a photo of herself and her two-year-old daughter holding hands with the newborn.

“My little darling, know that you are cherished beyond measure and surrounded by love from the moment you graced us with your presence. A True Gift from God, blessed! Welcome Babyboy,” she wrote. Her friends and fans have since congratulated her. “Oh my goodness! Welcome!!” actress Zoe Saldana said. “Blessings upon blessings!”

British model Campbell announced the birth of her first child in May 2021 when she was 50. She disclosed on Instagram at the time that she is now the mother of a baby girl.

“A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother,” she wrote as she shared a picture of her hand holding the baby’s feet. “So honoured to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you my angel. There is no greater love.”

The news came just a few days ahead of her birthday. She recently opened up about how she’s enjoying motherhood and indicated that her daughter wasn’t adopted. “She wasn’t adopted – she’s my child,” she told British Vogue, adding that just a few people were aware she was going to have a child during that period. “I can count on one hand the number of people who knew that I was having her,” she revealed. “But she is the biggest blessing I could ever imagine. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done.”

Campbell had mentioned in the past that she would like to have a child. “I think about having children all the time. But now with the way science is I think I can do it when I want,” the British-Jamaican supermodel told the Evening Standard in 2017.

Campbell, who became the first Black British model to appear on the cover of British Vogue, has earned praise for her charity work. She continues to be a vocal voice against prejudice and discrimination in the industry.
