Naomi Campbell recently opened up about how she’s enjoying motherhood and disclosed her 9-month-old daughter wasn’t adopted. The 51-year-old new mom and supermodel announced the birth of her daughter in May. But the only glimpse we got of the baby at the time was her tiny feet.
Campbell, however, recently decided to share the cover of British Vogue’s March issue as mother and daughter were photographed for the first time. The 51-year-old also spoke about her daughter and motherhood.
“She wasn’t adopted – she’s my child,” she told British Vogue, adding that just a few people were aware she was going to have a child during that period. “I can count on one hand the number of people who knew that I was having her,” she revealed. “But she is the biggest blessing I could ever imagine. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done.”
The supermodel also disclosed she “always knew that one day I would be a mother.” “It’s the biggest joy I could ever imagine. I’m lucky to have her and I know that.”
Asked if she’d welcome the idea of having more kids, Campbell said, “why not?”
She also said being a mother has made her feel like “a kid again.” “I’m reliving nursery rhymes, playing and discovering how many great new toys there are out there in the world! And dolls! Things I couldn’t even dream of,” she said.
Campbell stated that her daughter “comes first” when she was asked what her biggest surprise in motherhood has been.
“Everything I do, I do for her – that’s it. It’s so completely selfless, isn’t it?” she said.
