Sports parents are known to go above and beyond, and this mother was ready. Teresa Williams has gone viral for her unconventional approach to juggling her profession and her son’s enthusiasm for football.
In addition to working as a social services director, the Florida mother has taken on the role of football coach for her nine-year-old son, Czar Glanton, and is frequently still seen wearing her work attire.
Many netizens were in awe of the eccentric football coach’s attire decision.
She told NBC News, “I have to show up for him, no matter how tired I may feel or how long my day may have gone.”
Williams, who was previously a high school cheerleader, spotted her son’s football potential early on.
She expressed, “I started studying more and falling in love with the game so I could better assist him to be a more effective player.”
Despite having played since he was five years old, her son’s abilities didn’t fully come to light until Williams assumed the position of coach.
Williams called it “the most exciting thing ever” when her son progressed to the point where he started for his team, proving that her hard work paid off.
Glanton likewise said that he believed that his growth as a footballer was due to his mother’s mentoring.
Following that, the coaching staff at her son’s team acknowledged her efforts and offered her to join the coaching staff, a position that has left Williams “over the moon.”
Williams believes the values her son learns on the football field will carry over long after the game, although her son has aspirations of being a meteorologist and a baseball player.
