Television host and actor Montel Williams took to social media to debunk claims regarding a sex tape involving him and Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris. Per The Shade Room, Williams, 68, and Vice President Harris briefly dated over two decades ago.
Their past relationship has since been widely discussed after Harris, 60, launched her 2019 presidential campaign. Williams responded to the sex tape claims on Wednesday after a supposed blogger alleged that it “was being shopped around.”
“Wow, I was just informed by my friend, who is the CEO of a large tech company, that there is allegedly a sex tape being shopped around involving Kamala Harris and Montel Williams,” the user claimed on X. “This could break the internet and seriously damage the Harris campaign with just 8 days until the election.”
But Williams, who also retired with honors from the US Navy after over two decades of service, quoted the post and dismissed those claims. “Wow, I hear a blogger I’ve never heard of got millions of views claiming someone is ‘shopping’ a sex tape of me that will ‘break the internet,’” he wrote.
“Let’s ‘break the internet’ w/ truth – there is no tape. @KamalaHQ’s surge clearly has some people worried.” Several reports from the media indicate that the Harris-Trump presidential race is currently tight with just a few days to election day.
Williams addressing his past relationship with Harris wasn’t the first time he had done so. In 2019, he responded to a viral red carpet photo of him and Harris, saying that they “briefly dated about 20 years ago when we were both single.”
“So what?” he asked. “I have great respect for Sen. Harris. I have to wonder if the same stories about her dating history would have been written if she were a male candidate?”
