An anti-Kamala Harris billboard, that showed a doctored image of her about to perform a sexual act, was pulled down by an advertising company after it drew the ire of the public. Per The Newark Advocate, the image was on a billboard in Licking County, Ohio.

A spokesperson for Kennedy Outdoor Advertising, Clayton, told the news outlet that they removed the billboard after they were notified about its vulgarity. The doctored image showed Harris on her knees with her mouth open – suggesting she was about to perform a sexual act.

The billboard also showed a separate image of Trump with the caption: “In reality, they’re not after me, they’re after you. I’m just in the way.”

The billboard was pulled down on Saturday after it had reportedly been advertised for more than 24 hours. Clayton said the billboard was financed by a Newark-based towing company called RK Towing.

“Once it was brought to our attention how vulgar the advertisement actually was, we immediately removed it,” Clayton said. “We don’t condone anything like that, not in any way whatsoever. Whether we agree with it politically or not, we would never agree to do anything like that. That was definitely a mistake.”

A disclaimer on the billboard stated that the advertisement was financed by the owner of RK Towing. But several social media users criticized the disclaimer because it was not easy to see, The Newark Advocate reported.

Clayton said they removed the billboard “within an hour” after being made aware of its sexual innuendo. He also said they initially thought the billboard was describing Harris as a “crybaby”, adding that they did not know it was rather vulgar. He said it appeared the billboard was reviewed by only one person before the company gave the green light for it to be printed.

“We don’t always look and try to analyze every detail in the design,” Clayton said. “We deal with a lot of artwork so we don’t analyze every little thing. It may only be one person looking at the artwork.

“If there would have been three to four people looking at this artwork, it probably would have never made it to the billboard, obviously. But if there’s one person reviewing it, they may not think anything of it or realize the sexual innuendo that the ad presented. It’s not like the ad goes through five or six people to review and approve it.”

Clayton said the billboard has resulted in people sending the company emails and phone messages that are threatening and explicit. “We’re ashamed of it,” he said. “We don’t want that up on our billboards. It’s horrible.”

At the time of this report, RK Towing had not commented about the billboard after the company was contacted.
