(Dedicated to all the children of Odo-Ona)
River Ona,
Ancient course that births a nation: my origin
Deepest roots I am my beginning
River Ona, my bodiless being
Of the water tribe: still above with deeper intents running
Passing by the walk ways surreptitiously
Lying like a priceless necklace on the hilly backs
Of the rocks and the right side elsewhere
Many dolphins have popped up
And down and into you
Flamingos have fished in and out you
The quiet calm and ageless Mother watery
What lays inside you is blessing
For your children scattered
From here to the ends of the cosmos
