Courvoisier Teams Up With Miss Ghana USA To “Raise HOPE” For Children in Nigeria

New York, NY— On Saturday, October 19, 2013, from 9PM until 2AM, Raising H.O.P.E. will produce its annual pre-holiday black tie benefit, “Christmas in October”, at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater (405 W55th Street, New York, NY). All proceeds from the event will benefit The Kor Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting poverty within the less privileged communities of African countries.

The 3rd annual benefit for Raising H.O.P.E. (Hopeful Orphans Pursuing Excellence), a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization which provides financial and physical resources to children in need across Africa, will be hosted by the 2013 Miss Ghana USA 1st Runner Up, Lisa Aidoo. The black tie affair will feature luxury music by Afro-Electronic dance Music (A-EDM) creator, DJ Universe, a silent auction with items donated from event sponsors, premium open bar sponsored by Courvoisier, and complimentary hors d'oeuvres provided by Savor By Sam from 9-11pm.

The “Christmas in October” event will also recap the year activities of ten African intellectuals who serve as Raising HOPE’s ambassadors and are engineering sustainable projects and agendas in Africa and in the Diaspora: Hilda Akua Frimpong, Miss Ghana USA 2012; Jamilla Mohammed, founder, A Walk in My Shoes Foundation; M3NSA, UK-based Ghanaian artist and producer; Isaac Babu-Boateng, founder Face 2 Face Africa; Sandra A. Babu-Boateng, COO, Face 2 Face Africa; DJ Universe, creator, Afro-Electronic Dance Music (A-EDM); Ijeoma Genevieve Mbamalu, founder, MUI-The PR Company; Selena Watkins, Miss Black USA 2012; Hino Ehikhamenor, celebrity trainer and actor (The Contender and VH1’s Lala’s Full Court Life); Aminat Ayinde, supermodel and actress (America’s Next Top Model, Cycle 12). Raising H.O.P.E’s Beautiful Ambassadors of HOPE, is a hall of fame that boasts a roster of the most beautiful and powerful movers and shakers in the global African community.
