Presidential elections in Cameroon took place on Sunday with Paul Biya, one of Africa’s longest serving presidents seeking to extend his 36-year rule.
In a post-election statement released by the Electoral Commission, vote counting is currently underway and the results would be released within fifteen days.

Security in the highly volatile Anglophone regions was beefed up and this constituted to a very low voter turnout due to fears from locals.
