Joseph Awuah-Darko is a Ghanaian student and artist who is known for his Agbogblo.Shine project. He set up the Agbogblo.Shine project with a fellow student from Ashesi University after a visit to the Agbogbloshie Market in Accra, which he describes as “shocking”. The aim of the project is to repurpose the e-waste that is overflowing in the Agbogbloshie space into something useful. “The main focus of my work is to shed light on how human beings need to change how they treat the environment, and that is why these three themes – consumerism, capitalism and climate action— are captured in my work,” he says.

He is the Managing Director of Africa Modern Art Fund and is the youngest African contemporary artist to host a solo exhibition at Gallery1957. He was recently featured in the Forbes Africa 30 under 30 Creatives list.
